We are four sisters. I am the youngest one.
Growing up, I remember my sisters, one by one, prepare for their exams. Alone, in the Guest Room* at our house, they'd spend hours.
I wasn't usually allowed to enter the room, not to disturb. But I'd love just to be around out next to the door and listened to the music that was coming out from there.
Yes. They'd always study with music on (a habit which I would take on later in my life).
We had this vinyl, needle of which was broken since I knew it, and never got fixed. But it had this cassette player in it that worked. My sisters had lots of cassettes - at least to me it was - and after they all left for the university, most of these cassettes remained in the house. It was a joy to go over this stuff that I wasn't allowed to touch before**, and even record songs over some of them from the radio***. There were some albums though that I just kept as they are, and listened also myself. They were from, Queen.
I listened to Queen especially at the ages from 13 to 15. This time with my walkman. And I loved it. Still to this day, when I listen, it brings back all the memories from that time. The time when I was going to middle school, Antalya Anadolu Lisesi.
And this is my favorite song from Queen: Don't Stop Me Now.

* Guest Room: literally called "Salon" in Turkish, you have this one room in each house in Turkey. It's the biggest room of the house, at where there is all your fancy couches, fancy plates, fancy big dining table and TV. You, as a family, never use this room. Especially children are strongly discouraged to get in here - which would make it very attractive to any child. When the guests come to visit you you open the door of this room and host them there. Recently, in modern days, something strange happened and people started using this room regularly as well.
** Not really sure about this. I think it didn't really matter that I was allowed or not. I usually did what I wanted.
*** First you close up the little holes at the top left & right sides of the cassette. Then you can record. Remember?
